Finally, I applaud Nicole Cable’s poignant reminder to "QTIP - Quit Taking it Personally." It's a stark reality that humans tend to fear what they do not understand. Simply because it is unfamiliar, then it must be terrible. Look at children’s reaction to food that looks different, “NO I DON’T WANT IT.” Honey I promise you will like it. “NO!” This often leads us to unjustly judge others based on differences in skin color, religion, background, accents, etc. Encouraging empathy and understanding is vital to breaking down barriers and fostering a more inclusive society.

Another crucial takeaway was Raul Daza’s recognition that understanding a patient's cultural background is pivotal in healthcare. Refusing to acknowledge cultural nuances, such as insisting a diabetic patient abstain from rice when it's a staple part of their diet, often three meals a day, if not more. There is no positive outcome in this situation; this recommendation not only erodes trust but also places a huge barrier between the patient and the physician. They are potentially driving patients away from seeking essential medical guidance. If the patient listens to the provider, they now struggle with unnecessary guilt and shame, potentially driving a wedge between the patient and their loved ones, friends, family, etc. It's a poignant reminder of the significance of cultural competence in fostering effective doctor-patient relationships and delivering genuinely patient-centered care.

One highlight that resonated deeply with me was Melanie Lorenz’s notion that while we may perceive only about 10% of a culture, the remaining 90% remains concealed and requires diligent exploration to truly grasp. This understanding underscores the importance of cultural sensitivity not just as a moral imperative but as a strategic advantage, especially regarding Alex George’s point about fostering unwavering Brand Loyalty. Take, for instance, my interactions with vegan friends whose purchasing decisions are not only guided by ethical considerations but also rooted in a profound loyalty to brands that align with their values, extending beyond just food to encompass various lifestyle products like clothing, cosmetics, and skincare. Through these interactions, I've gleaned invaluable insights into ethical practices and sustainability from a vegan perspective.

This webinar was not just insightful but profoundly timely, particularly amidst the challenging cultural landscape, especially in regions like Florida, where the mere discussion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has been met with resistance from our very own governor’s office. It’s baffling to comprehend why understanding someone’s beliefs or cultural background, even when they differ from our own, could be viewed negatively. For example, learning about why a deaf person needs to communicate through sign language is not an attempt to make everyone hearing-impaired or deaf. However, in the best-case scenario, when you are aware of someone’s unique needs, you might be more apt to provide translators. In the worst-case scenario, with your newfound understanding, you will be less likely to stare, and better yet, you will be less likely to mock, bully, or make fun of someone using ASL.

There are better places to live than Florida. It’s not affordable, no diversification in the economy, no high wage high skill jobs being brought into the state, I could go on. Your best bet is to research other states based on criteria important to you and move.

The next day fake police officers broke down the door handcuffed me took me out the back exit murdered my dog kept my car for 10 days and dog after beating and breaking his tail and did not say I was under arrest showed me illegally papers with no seal or legal signature, did not read rights they have never on several illegall kidnapping searched my vehicle illegally my person removed my bra held me I. Chapel hill nc at the emergency room there and after a few days illegally transported me to hollyhill on sunnybrook rd in raleigh nc and illegally held me there and drugged me while they illegally held my dog and searched property and repacked my vehicle after holding and my dog was destroyed and left at an emergency vet on hwy 55 in apex nc and died a few days after in craven cty nc and was taken to lynaire kennels for cremation and never returned to me. And again on several occasions this emergency vet said it had no pet insulin it was back ordered as the vet proceeded to inject with insulin into seizures until she did another injection to kill this animal while the waiting room full of animals had no emergency but there to confirm death of my animal my family member.

I feel more at ease now that there is a vaccine in place. When the pandemic first started I was scared but now that we know about mask wearing, social distancing and a vaccine in place. All these factors will help everyone to be safe.

However, it would be very helpful for the potential candidates to see the raw data and final output of each tool mentioned in the video summary. I believe, it would be very helpful to people to see it with their own eyes instead of just listening the summary in "this" video.

Healthcare administration is one of the most disgraceful lines of work there is. People running hospitals that have never taken care of a patient. As a veteran provider and having worked in several other industries, I can say first hand how dysfunctional this industry is.

Cultural sensitivity - the presenter, moderator and panelists did justice to this timely and relevant topic. American is a melting pot of cultures and I do not believe any business can operate successfully without an awareness of cultural sensitivity. Thanks for pointing out that cultural sensitivity is a “two way street.” We, in whatever position or capacity, have to be culturally sensitive, but our patients, customers, clients and or community, need to be as well, to ensure a successful relationship.
